Shanna Peterson, MSN
Family Nurse Practitioner 

Shanna has worked as a Nurse Practitioner in Erwin for the past 7 years. She received her Master of Science in Nursing Degree from East Tennessee State University in 2005, as a member of Sigma Theta Tau for Academic Excellence. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree in 2000, also from East Tennessee State University. Shanna enjoys spending time getting to know her patients, treating them like family. She strives to help her patients understand their medical conditions, and help them to live healthier lives. Shanna lives in Erwin with her husband Chris and three children—Haley, Isaac and Jacob. She enjoys spending time with her family and being involved with her children’s sports activities.

Cedric Fernando, MD
Supervising Physician

Dr. Fernando received his medical degree in 1983, and completed his Residency in Family Practice at ETSU’s Quillen College of Medicine in 1987. He has practiced medicine in Unicoi County for the past 24 years, and is highly respected among the local healthcare community. Dr. Fernando is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, and is a Clinical Assistant Professor at ETSU’s Quillen College of Medicine. *Note- Dr. Fernando serves as the Supervising Physician who reviews Mrs. Peterson's clinical notes to ensure proper treatment. He is also available to consult with Mrs. Peterson for clinical advisement. However, Dr. Fernando does not maintain regular hours or treat patients at this location.

Janie Bailey, LPN

Janie is a native of Unicoi County. She received her training as an LPN in 1995 from Tennessee Technology Center in Elizabethton. She in passionate about caring for people from all walks of life and enjoys interacting with her patients. She is a very active member at her church in Unicoi, and enjoys working with the preschool children of the church. She has two pets-- a dog named June Bug and a cat named Precious. She is excited about joining Peterson Family Healthcare and looks forward to serving the community of Unicoi County.

Chandra Stout

Chandra is joining Peterson Family Healthcare with 6 years experience in the healthcare field. Although she is from the Kingsport area, she lives in Watauga with her husband and best friend Matt, and their son Gavin. She loves spending time with her family and friends, and is looking forward to getting to know all the patients at Peterson Family Healthcare. Chandra is the first face you will see when you enter our office!
